Georgia Stars Blue Receives Exclusive Tours of University of Memphis & University of Kentucky Basketball Complexes

Dear Coach Calipari, Assistant Coach Robic and University of Memphis Staff,

On behalf of the children and parents of the 13u Blue Georgia Stars Basketball team, I want to thank you for sharing your time and facility with our team as we traveled to Memphis, Tennessee for the AAU National Championship.

The exclusive tour of the University of Memphis basketball facility was eye opening. We were taken behind the scenes to the gym, weight and locker rooms and players lounge. We took pictures with former Memphis great, Penny Hardaway and we also met current Memphis players Derrick Rose and Chris Douglas-Roberts. Coach Robic’s academic and chalk talk in the team conference room was very important and applicable. That is were we learned the importance of balancing education with athletics.

This was an unbelievable week of fun, excitement, education and yes, disappointments too. Although we failed to bring home the National Championship trophy to Georgia, we brought home in our hearts and minds a fresh commitment of excellence and hard work to be the best that we can be.

Words cannot express our gratitude for your kindness towards our youth. As you played a very significant role in helping them to power forward to their future of success.

Congratulations Ritchie Eboka!

13 year old 7th grader scores 1350 on the SAT!

The Duke University Talent Identification Program (TIP) set up to recognize high achieving students from the most recent SAT/ACT examinations, recently honored Ritchie as he scored an incredible 1350 on the SAT . Ritchie, a straight A student on the Principals List has a desire to go "pro"! His future plans are to attend Harvard and major in neurobiology. He plans to go pro as a surgeon.

Ritchie sets a standard hard work and excellence that we all should and can reach when we set our goals and then work diligently toward them.

Enter His courts with praise...

Coach Berrien recently combined his highly successful  Next Level Basketball Team & Academy with the Georgia Stars. His athletes and teams have always been known for their great individual fundamental skills and unselfish team play. Their "No Excuses/Never Quit" attitude have been his teams calling card in innumerable first place tournament finishes. Yet the ordained deacon and youth pastor has served his community well and was honored with the JCPenney Golden Rule Award for community service and the National Association of Christian Athletes sportsmanship award.

Coach Berrien, the Head Boys Varsity coach @ Cumberland Christian Academy, the 2008 Region Champion, has been coaching for over 15 years in Georgia. He has worked with an uncountable number of student athletes, helping them transition from recreational to competitive AAU and High School ball. Several players have gone on to play college basketball at all levels, JUCO, NAIA, DII, & major DI.

my mission is to offer educational opportunities to all student athletes, exposing them to up to date basketball skill training, tournament experiences, and biblical life lessons, while preparing them for high school, college and beyond.
